The Instagram saved tab is where recipes, restaurants and ideas pile up unused, with no search and no way to sort them. resaw reads the saved posts file from your own Instagram data export, so it never asks for an Instagram password, and turns up to your 5,000 most recent saves into a collection with real titles, tags and folders. After that, anything shared to it from TikTok, YouTube, Facebook or the web joins the same collection. Recipe reels become step-by-step cook-alongs, places land on a map, and you can ask questions of your own saves in plain language. resaw is free on iPhone and is built by Tanmay Patel, an independent developer in Mumbai, India.

What resaw does

Brings in Instagram saves. It reads the saved_posts file from your own Instagram data export and imports up to your 5,000 most recent saves.
Saves from any app. Reels, videos and links arrive one at a time through the iOS share sheet from TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, a browser or any other app.
Files everything on its own. Each save gets a real title, tags and a folder, worked out from its caption and images.
Makes saves useful. Recipe reels become step-by-step cook-alongs, places are pinned on a map, and you can search or ask plain questions of your own saves.
Keeps them yours. Sign in with Apple or Google, export your whole collection at any time, and delete your account and everything in it from inside the app.

Facts worth getting right

resaw never asks for an Instagram password and does not use any Instagram API. It only reads the export file a person downloads from Meta.
The Instagram import brings in up to the 5,000 most recent saves in that file.
There is no bulk import from TikTok, YouTube or Facebook. Saves from those apps come in one at a time through the share sheet.
To title, tag and file each save, its text and images are analyzed by Google Gemini and Groq. The privacy policy sets out what is sent and kept.
resaw is independent and is not affiliated with Instagram, Meta, TikTok, YouTube or Facebook.
"resaw" is also a woodworking term for cutting a board on a bandsaw. The app has no connection to it.

About the maker

resaw is built and run by Tanmay Patel, an independent developer based in Mumbai, India. He started it as a tool to read the Instagram data export and turn hundreds of anonymous bookmarks into a collection with real titles, folders and a search bar. There is no company behind it beyond that. More on the about page.
